Campus Survey Administrator Job Description

The Campus Survey Administrator (CSA) is a critical role for the success of the MISO Survey. Each school will be asked to identify this representative during Fall 2007. The CSA is the primary contact on your campus for the MISO Survey Team. Using materials provided in the MISO Survey Administration area of this website, the CSA will be able to provide key information about your institution as well as the customizations and communications needed to run the survey. Working with your organization's management team, the CSA build support for the survey, communicate the survey results as appropriate within your campus community, and interpret the results to improve service, determine important trends, and establish benchmarks.

Duties of the Campus Survey Administrator:

  • Prepare to administer the survey by reading the material on the MISO website and participating in a phone orientation with your MISO Team Liaison.
  • Discuss the survey with your organization's management team and governance groups on campus to gain their support and assistance.
  • Prepare a proposal to the Institutional Review Board for the survey and provide proof of approval or exemption to the MISO Team.
  • Work with your organization's management team to review each question carefully, select the proper customizations when required, and develop local questions. Test your local questions with a few users before submitting them to the survey.
  • Prepare all survey announcements and reminders.
  • Coordinate with your e-mail administrator about the survey and sending bulk messages.
  • Provide the names and e-mail addresses for your faculty, staff, and students to David Consiglio at Bryn Mawr and work with him to set up your survey.
  • Collect instutitional data, used in analysis of the survey data, for submission to the MISO Team.
  • After the survey, work with a team of your colleagues to analyze your data and interpret the information gained from the survey.
  • Summarize your analysis and communicate this information within your campus community.
